Bringing the spirit of Ramadan alive with the theme of Help Us to Help Others, PETRONAS Group ICT hosted Iftar Ramadan on 9 July 2015 with 80 children ranging from the age of 3 to 12 years old from Rumah Kasih Sayang, an orphanage based in Rawang.The corporate social responsibility effort was organised by Group ICT's Human Resources Division (HRD) with support from the executives in the Young Graduate Programme, and the Strategic Communications Department. PETRONAS ICT Chief Operating Officer Izwan Hasli, General Manager of Human Resources Rosehaida A Rahman and General Manager of Business Relationship Client Management Wan Norimah Megat Ahmad, were among the senior management who joined the gathering.
Before breaking fast, the children visited the PETRONAS Twin Towers' sky bridge for the first time and were in complete awe of the view. From there, they were escorted to Surau Al Muhsinin in KLCC to listen to a Tazkirah by Uztaz Shazwan who shared that a grateful person will always be positive and ready to give the best in everything, including at work. After breaking fast, the event was followed by Maghrib prayer, dinner, and then continued with Isya' and Terawih prayers at the surau.
The highlight of the evening was a special Nasyid performance, a vocal music accompanied by percussion instruments, by the boys from the home. New clothes and duit raya (money packets) were given to the children and a total of RM5,790.00 was donated to their home.
